America’s history is often taught through a series of dates, events and the famous men and women who were the face of them. However, America’s past is a much greater and richer than a collection of facts and figures. And this means more than a book lesson-– it means understanding the stories of those who made a difference. Those who found the common ground, who inspired us, who brought us together. Those who fought for the things that make us, US.
For over 30 years, the Colonial Williamsburg Teachers Institute has been bringing these stories to life to help teachers inspire new generations of leaders. Our efforts have made a difference for over 10,000 teachers, who in turn have inspired more than 3 million students across our nation.
